The SuperNURDs woke up super early over our winter break to prepare and serve breakfast to the homeless and people in need at Interfaith. It was a great way to give a bit of our time and reflect on how much we have.
The SuperNURDs hosted a workshop, teaching FRC teams about team bonding and learning from your mistakes, with FRC Team #2485 The Warlords. Teams who attended include Team #5317 Iron Kodiaks, Team #2839 Daedalus Project, Team #3021 The Agency, and Team #6659 Circut Breakers.
The SuperNURDs visited Pioneer Elementary, LR Green Elementary, Orange Glen Elementary, and San Pasqual Union School, where they spoke to elementary level students about FIRST and pursuing STEM education.
The SuperNURD ladies participated in the Step Out event, which was hosted by the Escondido Union High School District. This event supports and encourages 8th and 9th grade girls to explore the wide range of STEM-based career options.
The SuperNURDs attended the SLAS conference where they hosted booth and showed the robot to conference attendents. In their free time, the students were able to learn more about professional engineering companies and see their robotic creations.
The SuperNURDs were invited to participate in the annual Escondido Christmas Parade, a televised event. Parents and students showcased the robot to the local community and earned a first place award in the general entry category.
